Freedom of the press is a cornerstone of free speech and democracy, so when the press begin to feel threatened our democracy is also threatened.
My favourite line in your Op Ed was “ When your protest garners praise from Donald Trump and when people feel comfortable enough to fly the Nazi flag inside the group, you’re not at an anti-vaccine mandate rally anymore. You’re among the fascists.”
It’s time for us all to stand up against fascism. Again.
Enjoyed the read! Thought provoking, made me feel uncomfortable and left me wondering. Thank you! Conspiracy theories are interesting and attract the spectrum of human beings. The irony I find is some conspiracy theories become mainstream (conventional religion, Olympics, NFT art) while others are revered in study (Greek mythology) and some while proven wrong or improbable by science have important as they provide comfort and context to individuals and groups journeying through life. Understanding the person and cutting through the conspiracy theory rhetoric is the difficult skill necessary to keep family, friends neighbours in peace. A long two years …
